Three poems below were written by
Amber, Georgia and Libby
of
Beacon CE Primary School, Liverpool UK.
The children were inspired to write and perform this work
by their involvement with the M~S~W project.
The major and primary influences of their love of the City of Liverpool are clearly shown within the words.
Amber's Liverpool
Verse 1 Liverpool, it is red and blue, We’ve even had a visit by the ‘QE2’ Beatles in the Cavern and the River Mersey Mathew Street Festival’s the place to be
Chorus So next time you’re down, And you’re looking around We were the Capital of Culture Lamb Bananas were our sculpture
Verse 2 Radio City is our Tower The Liver Birds are our power The Echo Arena where it all shows The Albert Dock, where anything goes
Verse 3 Dixie Dean and Bill Shankly too There all our history and the penguins are new
Verse 4 The best view in Liverpool is from our school We’re the top of the world and it feels very cool We can see the Welsh mountains Where James Bonds from too! You might even see him When you’re passing

Georgia's Liverpool
Lamb Bananas were a tourist attraction, Even though they only covered a fraction I’ve performed at the Cavern with some of my school The Cavern is the heart of Liverpool
I live in Liverpool and it’s really great I live in Liverpool and it’s no debate
Our two main football clubs are Liverpool and Everton And their supporters truly do give their everything Our huge ferris wheel was a brilliant sight And lit up blue every single night
I live in Liverpool and it’s really great, L live in Liverpool and it’s no debate.
You must visit the Albert Dock, There’s something for everyone around the clock The yellow duck is an amazing tour And trust me you will only want more
I live in Liverpool and it’s really great I live in Liverpool and it’s no debate
A trip on the ferry across the Mersey But don’t forget to pack a jersey Liverpool is the place to be, There is so much to do and so much to see
I live in Liverpool and it’s really great I live in Liverpool and it’s no debate

Libby's Liverpool
The Liver Buildings have birds on top Which causes an attraction for people to stop Liverpool One has the ferris wheel Shops and cafes with much more to reveal
The Albert Dock is the place to be
Museum, Arena and the Duck Ferry The Lamb Bananas were an explosion of colours
people stopped, stared and searched for others
Radio City is here to stay From young to old it’s there all day The magnetic spider was a joy to see It brought glory and fun to our city
